Fun, Vibrant & Stylish
While I am not a huge fan of the color red, I like it in doses. To me, the color red means fun. Some ways to inject fun into your home? Take a piece of furniture (like a chair), paint it red and what you'll end up with is a fun, vibrant and stylish piece that speaks volumes. If red scares you, you might want to stick to a simple red and white color palette. You can't go wrong with such a classic color combo. Think Hermes 'Balcon du Guadalquivir' plates. No, I'm not....but I love these images. I think I am just in a non-red stage. I just feel like it steals all the attention in a room...which right now I just need calming spaces. My boys are loud enough!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, every room needs a little red! My aunt loves red, she always has a red room in her house, this time it is the kitchen, she knew her husband was a keeper when she went to his house and saw that he had a red kitchen :)

ReplyDeleteA couple years ago I purged all the red from my house, and I think Julie has a point: my boys are loud enough! Right now the only red I have is in my cookware. But I've been considering adding a touch of red for fall.

I LOVE red. In small doses. If it isn't done yet, though, I hate it. What a fine line. Red and cranberry walls are passe, but fun punches of it are totally cute. I was thinking of painting a crib glossy red for a future nursery the other day when I saw a pic of it somewhere...
