Designer Lovin': Brittany Stiles

I recently found a new (to me) designer via pinterest whose style really impressed me.  Her name is Brittany Stiles and she is a California based interior designer.  She "appreciates all types of design - from traditional to modern; and cottage chic to asian inspired."  She is very comfortable with mixing traditional and modern furnishings with vintage and antique treasures as evidenced below...

In addition to her design business, she also has a very inspiring blog.  I appreciate it when successful designers explain their thought process behind their design decisions.  Some of my favorite posts are...

Her Presentation Board

Her design process with her clients.  She takes you through her design process step by step from the initial meeting to her beautiful color renderings.  I found it very interesting and informative.

A newly upholstered vintage sofa

Her on-going design projects.  In this post, she bought a vintage sofa for her apartment where she infused her own design modifications and goes into detail of what she changed to make the sofa better.

Detailed posts on the furnishing of her apartment.  We're in luck because this Friday, June 1st, she is having a Tastemaker Tag Sale on One Kings Lane featuring her living and dining room furnishings!

I look forward to seeing the sale as well as following her in the future!  To say I was completely inspired is an understatement!!

Katie Rosenfeld Design

It is always fun to find a new designer or blog that you find inspirational.  As a fellow New Englander, I was very excited to find Katie Rosenfeld Design via her blog Bogle Street.

Bogle Street, which I spent over an hour reading, is packed full of useful design information, expertise and tips.  On top of that, her designs are so inspirational.  They are classically inspired, but full of punch with colors and patterns.  I've posted a few of my favorite images above and below.

Make sure you take a moment to check out her blog and portfolio.  You won't be disappointed!

Friday's Favorites

Don't you love it when you have a great inspiration day or as is my case, a great inspiration week?  I can't begin to tell you how many times I was inspired this week.  Here is a little sampling....
So inspired by Modern 24/7's apartment.  It's amazing.  Check out more here.  I'm loving that tree in the corner.  What kind of tree is that?  Anyone?  Next up, if you haven't been introduced to Abbe's blog Studio Ten 25, go introduce yourself!  A fantastic designer and her master bedroom has been stuck in my mind for days!!
Who doesn't love a good before and after?   Well, I certainly do and both of these B & A's are kitchen related.  Casey, from Loft and Cottage, does a great play by play of her kitchen upgrades on a tight budget.  Go here for more.
Amy Meier also had a great kitchen before and after.  A true gut job, but with a warm and inviting finish.  Check out more here.
Iomoi's lucite trays are on my christmas list!  Have they expanded their product line?  So much eye candy.......check it out!

And, speaking of Christmas, I leave with you this!!  I know it's early, but this definitely makes me excited!!  So colorful and happy!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Bloglovin': Armas Design

You need to check out this fabulous blog Armas Design.  Michelle is an artist living in Atlanta who is a graphic designer and a painter.  Her artwork is fabulous.  I love the abstract nature of her work and the colors she uses.
Payton

I like the names she uses to title her works.  I used to like a guy named Payton back in middle school, but I have to say I like this Payton much, much more!!

Joslyn is my favorite!  She has such a bright and warm disposition.  She would be perfect in my home where I could stare at her everyday and she would be sure to cheer me up on the days when I'm feeling less than stellar.  I've given my husband a heads up since my birthday is next month! (a girl can dream, right?)  However, what I love is that Michelle showcases her art in her own home and her home is just absolutely beautiful.  Check it out.

Love the box beamed ceiling, sputnik chandelier, camelback sofa, her Zig Zag and Wandering Pods pillows!  Is that a glass of wine I see?  Oh, this is a woman after my own heart!  And, do you see Joslyn in the background?  Isn't she gorgeous?

Love Michelle's federalist server that she found at an antique store! Isn't she a beauty?  Such a classic and timeless piece.

Her bedroom.  So serene.

She recently recovered this chair!  I wonder if this is Hable Construction's Stripe fabric?  Either way...I love it.
Thank you again, Michelle, for letting me share your talented work and your beautiful home!  It was a pleasure!

Chevron on the Diagonal

Thank you for your suggestions on yesterday's post.  There were some really good ideas!  A friend of a friend is a color consultant and she has offered to give me some help on choosing a color to paint my house.  So, stay tuned!
This weekend I found an amazing blog - Live.Like.You.  Jill Sorenson (I love her desire for color) owns her own interior design firm called Marmalade Interiors and you must check out her projects.  While browsing her blog, I found this amazing Swedish shop called Brita Sweden.

They have these amazing woven plastic rugs, and one which caught my eye was the Gunnel pattern.  Chevron on the diagonal - how genious!
They are child proof, woven plastic that can be wiped down or thrown in the washer machine.  They are also eco-friendly (no heavy metals or toxic softener) and affordable!  Supposedly, $150 for their largest size (3' x 6.5').  I could definitely see adding this rug to a kitchen for an added punch of color or to a hallway to brighten it up.

You also have to check out their other products!  Colorful kid's aprons and stylish door mats.
And, I couldn't help but add this adorable picture advertising their products.  Too cute!
