At times, I feel like the traditional style of this house dictates my inspiration and other times I am certain I want to do californian boho eclectic style! Is that even a style???
And, then there is the roof. The new roof is wiping out any dream of owning new furniture. And, when did I convince myself that we really need covered gutters - sure, why not....add it to the list.
Speaking of the roof, we will be getting the architectural shingles (which, I believe, is simply another term for dimensional shingles, as some of you mentioned in a previous post). While looking at shingle colors last night, my husband and I got bored real quickly and started looking at new cooking gas ranges like those from Wolf and Viking. Don't ask me why; we could never afford it, but it was much more fun that looking at roof shingles!
And, then there is the unpacking. Do you ever look at stuff you have and ask, 'Why on earth did I buy this?' I feel like that with virtually everything I am unpacking. Ugh. I'm afraid to buy anything anymore because of the fear I might not like it in a year.
To end on a more positive note, thank you so much for your kind comments about our new home. I am glad you like it as much as we do. I am slowly realizing I am the type that needs to live in a house a while before I can make any serious design commitments. So, that is what I am doing living in our space and taking it slow. In fact, just last night I used an online room planner and did a space plan of our living room (which is a long and narrow room). Very cool. It definitely sparked some ideas.
