Christmas around the house...
I wasn't going to post until after Christmas since the Newtown tragedy. I've been so down and I seem to cry at a drop of a pin at any given point of the day. I am so sad for our fellow CT neighbors; I can't even remember being this down since September 11th, 2001. But, I realize it doesn't do anyone any good to wallow. Today, I carved out some time today to finish up some last minute decorations. This made me forget for just a second. Here are some snapshots....
I hope you all are enjoying the last couple of days before Christmas and are looking forward to spending time with family. I know I am. God bless.

I share your sentiments. Too sad; haven't felt like blogging. But, you're right about not wallowing. I need to post something too and thought about my holiday decor. Coincidentally, we have Hable stockings too - think they're so fun and whimsical. Merry, merry to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these photos of your home. It's charming and seeing them is a nice diversion from the sadness of the news broadcasts.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. Any attempt to write a blog post seems so trite, even though I love reading them right now. P.S. I love those Hable stockings and am kicking myself for not ordering my girls those PJs before GH sold out this year! Merry Christmas, Fran. xxoo
ReplyDeleteI agree ... seems trivial and unimportant to blog right now (for me anyway) so I can understand what you are feeling too. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and normally I would be posting about that and everything else but I just can't bring myself to do it. God bless you too and Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeletesometimes, people just need to take a break from everything to go back to normal.=)
ReplyDeleteI just now put up pics of my Christmas decorations as well. Felt like I probably should, even though I didn't really want to take the time to do it. Hate it when blogging feels like a chore, instead of fun. I like the wreaths hanging in your dining room & your china cabinet!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! And, I feel the same way. I went shopping with friends last night and it took my mind off of it for a couple of hours which is what I needed. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI hope spending time with your family over Christmas brings you some comfort, Fran. I know I'm especially looking forward to it this year. P.S. Your home is so pretty. Love seeing these pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'm with everyone else and blogging just hasn't been a priority for me lately. I've been thinking about you specifically a lot because of what has happened and hoping you're finding comforting in snuggling with your family and doing some crafting and decorating and baking. We've been doing lots of baking. I would like to get a post up before Christmas, so hopefully you'll be hearing from me soon. My heart aches and aches. My brother sent me some video from my nephews holiday concert and I couldn't get through the songs. God bless you and your family and everyone in CT Fran.
