I had fun putting together a mood board for a dining room. I designed it with some elements that I am currently loving at the moment.
Contrast. I've been so drawn to rooms lately with lots of contrast. To create more contrast, I'd paint the back of the bookshelves a dark color.
Floor to Ceiling bookcases. I would flank an entire wall with built-in bookcases.
Rustic. I'm loving rustic dining tables.
Unexpected. The gold shell chandelier, the mix of french chairs with the rustic table create a bit of the unexpected for me.
So, are you feeling it? What elements do you like?
Love a library in the dining room, Fran! This feels very Euro inspired. I wonder why ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove that chandelier! What program do you use to create your mood boards?
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny, I used adobe illustrator. In the past, though, I've used powerpoint.
DeleteThe table, built-ins, and calming paint color do it for me. I've always wanted built-ins in a home, so hopefully in our next home we'll see. But I just had a consultation a few weeks ago, they're getting new cabinetry installed in their family room. They're doing lower cabinets on either side of the fireplace, but she specifically did not want upper shelving. (I was so sad) But she said she didn't want to have to worry about decorating the shelves and finding the right items for them. I guess some people feel strongly about not wanting to have to fill the shelves (again big sad face). Great board Fran!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely feeling it! LOVE the gold, and the bookcase, and well.. everything!
