It's that time again when tag sales are popping up all over the neighborhood! I love a good deal and I'm somewhat of a tag sale junkie. Mind you, I am never the 'early bird', but if my schedule allows it I try to hit 1 or 2 sales over the weekend. This past weekend I scored several treasures. Treasure #1 - the faux bamboo mirror.
Only $8! I'm going to have to paint it, but for $8 I couldn't pass it up. Here are some inspiration pictures:
Stay tuned...more treasures to come.
Awesome, awesome find! I am very curious to see how tricky painting (and taping!) it is going to be. . .
ReplyDeleteSooo jealous, that is such a great find! $8??? Wow! I can never get it together enough to get to tag sales early, either, I'd rather relax and enjoy my morning and then pop out to see what's been left behind!
ReplyDeleteGreat junking. Wonderful find.

Oh my gosh! Great find. With a little spray paint, that mirror will look amazing.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! Lucky duck. What color, what color? I vote for a metallic silver! Oh, and from working with mirrors and paint, don't worry if you don't tape exactly right -- you can remove the excess with paint thinnner. Can't wait to see the finished product!! xxoo
ReplyDeleteGreat find! I found a large rectangular faux bamboo mirror at a thrift store for $30. I painted it black, but now that I see all these options, hmmm....
ReplyDeletefantastic mirror! with a fresh coat of paint, you'll have a real treasure!
ReplyDeletewhat a score! I love it. I recently painted one...it wasn't that bad!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow! No way, Fran!! That mirror is even better than I thought it would be! Your inspiration photos are awesome! Next time I'm Connecticut... we HAVE to go tag sale shopping!

ReplyDeleteLUCKY YOU - VERY JEALOUS INDEED - A GREAT FIND! KG

oh my gosh are you kidding me?!?!?!?! mine was quadruple that price and is exactly the same! i need to go shopping with you. the deals you find are insanely good! such a great find lucky lady:)
ReplyDeleteLOVE a good faux bamboo mirror -- what color are you going to paint it? I'd love to see it in something bright and glossy.
ReplyDeleteOMG totally jealous! I would have picked that baby up too, though I already have more diy projects than I can handle right now. How do you not bring home everything you see? Yesterday I forced myself not to stop for a settee (for free!) and spindle leg table on the side of the road. My home is already getting too crowded but sometimes these finds are too good to pass up!!
ReplyDeleteAm I crazy but I like it in the green?! I've seen so many bright lacquered mirrors or the other end of the spectrum in white or black...the rich green is so interesting. Picture it above a mahogany chest of drawers or against a black wall, above a white pedestal sink. Don't run out and paint just yet....
