Celerie Kemble: Fabric

One of my guilty pleasures is fabric.  I guess out of all the guilty pleasures to have - having an obsession for fabric is not a bad one!     One reason I started to learn how to sew was because I couldn't justify buying fabric and then paying someone else to sew things for me.  Although, if time is an issue....I might consider it! :)
Fabrics are a source of inspiration for me.  When trying to create a room or space (again, did I mention I'm very new to all this?), I like to start either with a piece of fabric or a piece of art.  I did that for our living room and bedroom which are still works in progress.  So, I thought I'd feature a fabric line I love.  It has been out there a while, but nevertheless, it just speaks to me.  Celerie Kemble fall 2008 line for F. Schumacher ; specifically,  Hot House Flowers in the verdance colorway.

I also like the spark colorway, but not as much as the verdance.
Some more inspiration.....

'Bleeker' in birch.  Love the geometric fretwork.

Found these pillows on ebay in the bleeker linen fabric.  And, I couldn't resist adding a 'muse worthy' photo of Celerie Kemble herself featured in the current JCrew catalog.  Hmmm...is JCrew considering doing a home/interior line??  Or, is that wishful thinking?

  2. Oh my goodness!!! Those pillows on ebay are KILLER! 149 bucks... ouch! Great find though! And those wing chairs in the Hot House verdance are stunners! I have a fabulous piece of the Betwixt spark/ivory (from that same Schumacher line) that I kind of forgot I had... thanks for jogging my memory!

  4. Fran,

I so relate to your obsession. I think fabric is the grown-up version of candy...how do you pick just one favorite??? The green you featured is fantastic!!! I am seriously considering throwing my office update out to readers because of my fabric dilemma...
