This was a real farm where the land and the sky stretched on for miles. So vast. We definitely don't live in Connecticut anymore.
You can tell by the sky that a storm was coming - it was breezy and a bit ominous. It reminded me of something out of the Wizard of Oz where Dorothy is on her farm in Kansas before the tornado hits.
Afterwards, the kids played and got homemade ice cream! We made it home just before the storm hit. They were so happy.
That weekend we went to a friend's house for a barbecue and I made Jenny's strawberry cupcakes with our freshly picked strawberries. They were out of this world! I highly recommend the recipe.
Fran,
ReplyDeleteOH, how I loved trips to Huber's with my Dad. He was there last week! I think there is nothing sweeter than to pick your own and share strawberries on a Summer day. Your images are lovely.
I want to bake those cupcakes today!

Gorgeous kiddos...sounds like you had a lot of fun! Your cupcakes look very good.
ReplyDeleteThe children seem to have found the experience of strawberry picking at the farm so fulfilling. It's nice to see the family enjoying an educational and fun trip like that. I'm sure the vast farm had given everyone the chance to run around and explore. That's definitely a great way to spend the weekend. I hope you get to enjoy more moments like that. All the best! :)
