Her style is inspired by clean lines (with a modern edge) infused with lots of texture, rough-hewn woods and weathered finishes.
Think Brad Ford. (BTW, did you know he has a blog ?!?).....or, the recent Elle Decor , especially the feature on designer Jesse Carrie.
She recently got rid of the bunkbeds in her guest room and wants to buy a new headboard. She is torn between these 3 beauties from West Elm:So, which headboard would you choose and why? Seriously, she is in need of some help and I told her I have the most talented readers out there!! :) Anyone, anyone?
**My friend is concerned about mildew? Does anyone know how grasscloth holds up in coastal/wet climates?**
All three are nice, but I really like the grasscloth for its buttery richness. Don't know about moisture.

grasscloth! It is so unique. I've never seen anything like it.
ReplyDeleteI gotta vote grasscloth too...so unusual and seems to fit her style don't know about moisture either
ReplyDeleteshe has great taste
I too love modern and rough together.
ReplyDeleteI like the first headboard best - multiple textures - rough and shiny.
As I was scrolling down the post and saw the grasscloth headboard, I thought, "ooh--I love that one!" Little did I know you were going to ask our favorite!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog today! :-) You've got a beautiful space here.
That grid tufted grasscloth is really catching my eye.
ReplyDeleteI love the tufted one, but all three would work with the style you described.
ReplyDeletegrasscloth....hands down!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else grasscloth!
ReplyDeleteLuvs!
I have to say I like the last one best. Grass cloth is pretty, but I would be afraid of it getting damaged when it was leaned against-- would be impossible to clean and if she has cats...well, it would make an excellent scratching post for my kitties:) That said, I live on the marsh in coastal NC- - We have a humidifier on the ground level and it keeps EVERYTHING dry-- almost too dry somtimes. Tell her to get a fridgeader (sp?) from Lowe's and she will be set!
ReplyDeletewell, i am addicted to nailheads (detail, detail!) and so i'm loving that one. but the grasscloth (the crowd favorite!) would be my second choice. i don't think moisture should be an issue--since it's a natural fiber, it's breathable. i'd worry about polyester or any other synthetic.
ReplyDeleteMy first choice would be the second one, but then as I got thinking I might have to go with the last choice. While it doesn’t have the same look it is more practical for the wet/humid/harsh climate of Nantucket. I love the color against a whitewashed wall, and to change up the look you could drape a quilt/blanket over the top of it to make a softer feeling headboard that can be switched out on a moments notice.
ReplyDeleteOhh, great inspirations for her! BTW, love your header, what a charming print.
ReplyDeleteOne and two feel more special than #3.
ReplyDeletegrasscloth!! it would be nice to lean against too and read a book.
