Happy St. Patrick's Day
My husband, being Irish, feels compelled to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Given that our son is only 2 1/2, he can't drink a Guinness with his father. So, instead, we decided to make swirly green cupcakes for Luke's daycare. On our first attempt, I grabbed a random cupcake mix from the store. It wasn't until we finished mixing the batter up that we had a taste, only to find our mouths burning afterwards. Why you ask?
I think the box speaks for itself. Who puts cayenne in cupcake mix? Who did the market research on this? Anyway, our second attempt was much more successful.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you also. I want a cupcake!! Love Suzanne
ReplyDeleteOkay that is soooo funny! We bought dark chocolate with cayenne once. Only once. Ick. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Marija
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you discovered the cayenne before the little ones got to them! That could have been disastrous! Those cupcakes would be great for April Fool's Day! HA! Happy St. Paddy's Day, Fran!
ReplyDeleteI really like your blog. It's one of those things that transport us to where we'd like to be - a place for dreaming, imagination and creativity. It's also a way to share, connect and reflect - things can can be hard to accomplish in our busy, task-oriented worlds.
ReplyDeleteSo that's some of the reasons I like it.
Hope you're wearing green today and have the luck of the Irish! Love, Susan
never heard of cayene in cupcakes....Since I am Korean and my husband is a mut, St.Patty's Day is very uneventful. I actually forgot it was St. Patty's Day......oh well!
ReplyDeleteIt would take several pints of Guinness for me to eat a cayenne cupcake but your second batch looks great! Nice job! Happy St. Patrick's Sis and nice work.
