A Quick Fix - Before and After

Moving stuff around (#MSA) the house gets my creative juices flowing.   Nine times out of ten it is all I need for the room to feel 'fresh' again.

This week I found a window of time and decided to freshen up our built-ins in our family room.  I recently purchased a Ralph Lauren blue and white porcelain lamp from HomeGoods and wanted to see if it would work well in the space.   So, here is the after (with lamp in picture)….

And, here was the before.

Before

Major improvement and I am definitely keeping the HomeGoods blue and white lamp.  See how moving stuff around #MSA works!!!  Nothing is new (except the lamp).

Of course, now I want to paint the back of the built-ins a blueish color.   I played around yesterday with samples and here is one option (see paint swatch behind lamp)…

I like it, but I think I want darker! :)  Now, just to find the time to do this!  Happy weekend!

Some Serious Style...

So I am going to leave you this week with some serious design styling infusion!  I stumbled on Kelley Roberts home via Gypsy Soul Interiors.  She is a home owner and interior designer residing in Ft. Worth who opened her own firm in 2011 called Beckley Design Studios.  I'm at a loss for words over her stylish pad!  Check it out...

Crazy good, no?  I would love to see more of her work!!

Happy Weekend, my friends!!

Styling: Office Updates

Since my son was exhausted yesterday (due to his birthday weekend) he had a nap and I was on cloud nine!  What should have I been doing?  Packing.  Yeah, that didn't happen.  Instead, I focused on using the time to do some updates to my office/toy storage room.  My husband hung our canvas photos this past weekend and I spent some time styling.

Did I tell you styling is a challenge for me even though I really like doing it?  I wish I was better.  Anyway, I played around with some accessories yesterday.  Excuse the picture-less frame.  I am pretty certain I won't keep the styling this way, but it was fun to play around.  Did you notice my new furbish coasters?? Love them!
