Our New Home - A Box of Crayons

Welcome to our new home (that we just moved into over Thanksgiving week).

Every design guru will tell you that when picking paint colors for your home, you should try to create some cohesive 'flow'.  Your paint colors shouldn't reflect a box of crayons.  Unfortunately, our home (with the previous owner's paint selection) breaks the rule over and over again.

To give you the full experience of optical whiplash, I was able to take this one shot from the kitchen which captures the brown hallway, the green kitchen, the mango colored family room and the red living room.   Ugh.  Pictures taken on move in day!

If you make your way upstairs to the laundry room, you can get your fix of blue.

Elizabeth's room is lilac with glow in the dark stars on the ceiling!

Kid's bathroom...there is nothing more that can be said about this.  The picture says it all.

Needless to say, I'm trying to pick out a more neutral palette starting with the mango room.  Here are some options.

Top Row (L to R): SW Dover White, SW Creamy, BM Linen White, BM Grant Beige

Bottom Row (L to R): BM Navajo White, BM Bone White, BM Swiss Coffee, BM White Dove, BM Navjo White.

With a little luck, we will be painting mango room over the weekend and I hope to show you some before and afters soon!  Happy weekend!
