Pretty Pictures

I recently received an email from my stepmom who sent me a link to an interior design store called, Interiors, in the town where she and my dad live.  I really liked the pictures and thought I'd share.  Nothing better than finishing a long and hot week with some pretty pictures (and, if you're reading this after 5 pm, maybe a glass of wine too)!

I really like this fabric.  I know I have seen this before, but the name is escaping me.

I adore all the blue and white porcelain.  Heaven......

How charming is this bamboo desk and chair set?  And, I love the antique persian rugs that lay underneath it.

Citrine and gray is such a fresh color palette.

I love this chest.  This is a perfect example of a piece of furniture that will never go out of style.  Truly a classic and timeless piece.
We plan on visiting my dad and step-mom in August so you can bet that visiting this store will be on my to-do list!  Have a great weekend!

Better than I expected...

My friend's living room is coming together - all the furniture pieces are in place.  Yesterday, Crate and Barrel's clairemont coffee table and side tables arrived and they are gorgeous!  I had heard about the clairemont collection through other bloggers/designers, but seeing it in my friend's living room exceeded my expecations.

They are super heavy and the bottom shelf (an antique finished mirror) just really elevates the entire piece.  If you're looking for a way to lighten up your room, these pieces with the metal, glass and mirror really add a lot of reflection and shine.  Gorgeous!  Truly a great investment!

I am praying my friend keeps the side tables; her husband likes another set of wooden side tables better.  If she keeps them, they will flank her custom couch and each will sit in front of floor to ceiling windows.  Kind of like this look:

She is also doing a layered rug approach with a 9x12 sisal and a smaller 5x7 rug.  Eventually, she wants to find the perfect antique persian, but in the meantime, I spotted this John Robshaw totem dhurrie (on casa.com out of all places) and I think it'll do a great job of pulling together the indigo she has in the room.  It's a great price.

In other news, I've been doing some much needed spring cleaning and I am finally letting go of some really nice fabrics I've been hoarding for some time.  Next week I plan on having a fabric/textile sale on my blog.  Stay tuned!!

Evolving....

My little girl's room is slowly coming together.  Because it takes this mama forever to finish something, my ideas are always changing a bit which is throwing me a little off track.  I'm slowly getting there, though.  I decided on the wall color....

BM Salisbury Green

It turned out a bit more sage-y than I would have liked, but I think I am going to keep it.  Below is her crib sheet which will be on a white crib.  It was Luke's old crib.  She will not have a crib skirt because she'll be moving into a bed in the not too distant future.

This Ikea bookshelf will be going in a corner of the room behind a white diamond matelasse slipcovered chair. I probably will put a contrasting color on the backs of the insides of the shelves to lighten things up.

White Diamond Matelasse Fabric

I am investing in a nice dresser because the dresser that I was stripping will now be placed in our guest room.  I have my eye on a couple.  I can't decide on the finish of the dresser - it's between these three finishes...(remember it's green walls).

 aged white
 french gray
antique natural oak

So, I ordered samples and then will make my decision.  I'm leaning towards either the antique natural oak or aged white.  So, that is where things stand at the moment.  Oh, and if anyone knows a good upholster (in CT/MA), I'd love recommendations.  It appears the one I was going to count on will not work out.

Stanton Home Furnishings

Have you heard of Stanton Home Furnishings based in Atlanta, GA?

Founded by Jimmy Stanton, his look is relaxed, elegant, comfortable and affordable.  I stumbled across them while hunting for a dresser for my daughter's room.  Very cool furniture!!

Case in point - the Duval chest.  Love it!  Wisteria has one very similar to it which I almost purchased it for E's room, but it was too small.  Boo.  But, it looks very similar to the dresser used in this bedroom.

I saw the Brayden Arch mirror and it looks very similar as the mirrors used in Amber Interiors bedroom she recently completed.  It might be the very same ones and I love them!

I also saw these Zimmerman side tables and I immediately recognized them from one of the homes for sale that Joni listed on her blog.  They are so unique.

Another, side table that caught my eye was the Stuart side table seen below.

While not 100% similar, it reminded me of some bedside tables I saw in Ashley Goforth's portfolio.

If you're interested in seeing more of his look and style, you should go here.  Wonderful inspiration to start off  your Monday!!  I hope all the moms out there had a wonderful Mother's Day.  I sure did!! :)
